EFG Hermes Statement on Sexual Harassment Section

EFG Hermes is committed to providing a safe environment for all its employees free from discrimination on any grounds and from all types of harassment, including sexual harassment.

The Firm operates a zero-tolerance policy for any form of sexual harassment in the workplace: we treat all incidents seriously and with respect, promptly investigate all allegations and handle the entire process in strict confidence. Any person found to have sexually harassed another will face disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal.

EFG Hermes’ Sexual Harassment policy extends to incidents taking place within the premises as well as all social events, business trips, training sessions or conferences sponsored by the Firm.

Sexual harassment can take many forms, including but not limited to unwelcome sexual looks or gestures and communication that includes content of a sexual nature (e.g. emails, text messages, telephone calls).

EFG Hermes prohibits:

  • the use of foul language & profanity and considers them as an act of misconduct. Profanity can take the form of words, expressions, gestures, or other social behaviours that can be construed or interpreted and insulting, rude or disrespectful.
  • sexual advances, requests for sexual favours, and any verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature.

EFG Hermes recognizes that because sexual harassment often occurs in unequal relationships within the workplace, victims often feel that they cannot come forward. Accordingly, the Firm actively encourages victims to come forward, and is committed to providing them with support throughout the complaints process. To ensure victims receive the appropriate support, EFG Hermes ensures that there are appropriately trained Human Resources employees at all times.
